LPG vapour is heavier than air, so a leak collects at low level and can travel to drains, cellars and pits. DSEAR asks where a release could occur, where it would go and what it could meet.

Do a few LPG cylinders need a DSEAR assessment?
The duty applies whenever a dangerous substance is present at work. With a small number of cylinders the assessment is short, but it should still be recorded.
Is our gas supplier's checking enough?
A supplier's checks cover their equipment. DSEAR is your legal duty as the employer, and covers how the gas is stored and used across your site.
